Chihuahua dogs generally are of between 6 and 9 inches of height and weight between 2 and 6 lbs. They can present a variety of colors, including black, white, light brown, dark brown, or reddish-brown, among many others, as well as a wide combination and mixture of them.

One of the most characteristic features of Chihuahuas is given by their ears. Chihuahua's ears are large and erect and provide this breed with a very friendly look and an alert appearance. Due to their size, Chihuahua dogs might not be the best choice for playing with children since they can be fragile and easy to be hurt. On the other hand, this dog breed is ideal for living in small spaces and would easily adapt to an apartment. It is also interesting to know that Chihuahuas count with an average lifetime that usually is longer than other dog breeds, and can be estimated around the 15 years.
