Pekingese Dog

Some characteristics

Pekingese dogs belong to the toy dog breed category. This is an ancient dog breed (it is more than 2000 years old) originated in China, and is also called Pekinese or dogs of foo. This dog breed is characterized by its extravagant appearance as well as by the fact that it might be of a wide variety of colors.

The coat of Pekingese dogs usually is long and straight and feathered, but there also is a type of Pekingese that has shorter hairs. Although the coat of these dogs can be of a wide range of different colors, some of the most common ones are: dark brown, red, gold, beige, black, tan, white, or grey.

Personality

Pekingese dogs usually are very stubborn, brave, courageous, and sometimes unfriendly to other dogs. This dog usually is not suitable for big families or houses with children since he does not like playing as much as other dog breeds might like and might become moody when there are children around.

On the other hand, Pekingese dogs are very loving and caring, and would do anything to defend their owner. They might actually be very jealous and might be very courageous guarding the house and their inhabitants.
